Brown sugar simple syrup is a rich and flavorful addition to your kitchen staples. It offers a caramel-like depth that enhances everything from coffee drinks to baked goods. If you’re a fan of cozy drinks like brown sugar oat milk shaken espresso, this syrup is your new best friend. Made with just light brown sugar and filtered water, this simple syrup is quick and easy to make, and it can be stored for up to a month in your refrigerator. Whether you’re adding a splash to your morning coffee or using it as a sweetener in desserts, this syrup will bring a comforting, warm sweetness to everything you make.

Brown sugar has a moist, molasses-infused texture, which lends a delicious caramel-like sweetness to recipes. By turning it into syrup, you can enjoy its deep flavor without needing to worry about dissolving sugar granules. Whether you’re adding it to coffee, lattes, cocktails, or shakes, brown sugar syrup is a perfect way to sweeten your drinks with a touch of warmth. It’s also a great alternative to traditional white sugar syrups, offering a more complex and indulgent flavor that pairs wonderfully with oat milk, cream, or dairy-free alternatives.
How to Use Brown Sugar Simple Syrup
There are endless ways to enjoy this homemade brown sugar syrup. Here are just a few ideas:
- Coffee and Lattes – Add a splash of brown sugar syrup to your morning coffee, latte, or espresso for a rich, caramel flavor.

Homemade Brown Sugar Tip
If you don’t have brown sugar on hand, you can easily make your own! Simply mix 1 cup of white sugar with 1 tablespoon of molasses to create your own homemade brown sugar. This works just as well in the recipe and ensures you have that signature moist, caramel-like sweetness for your syrup.
Storing Simple Syrups
