Brown Sugar Simple Syrup
Maria Watkins, LivingPlanetFriendly
a rich sweetener that adds a caramel-like depth to your favorite coffee drinks—I also like to use this syrup to make a brown sugar oat milk shaken espresso drink
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1 cup filtered water
In a medium saucepan, combine light brown sugar and water over medium heat. Stir occasionally to help the sugar dissolve fully.
Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, making sure the sugar has dissolved completely and the liquid is smooth.
Once the syrup is dissolved and smooth, remove the pan from heat.
Allow the syrup to cool to room temperature before transferring it to a clean container.
Store the syrup in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one month.
