Caramel Simple Syrup

caramel is one of my favorite syrups that I use all year round, mixed with a little oat milk in my morning and afternoon coffees, it’s perfect hot or iced
Course Ingredient
Servings 12 ounces

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup filtered water
  • ½ cup filtered water
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • In a medium saucepan, combine sugar and 1 cup of water over
  • medium heat. Bring mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves.
  • Let the mixture simmer without stirring, allowing it to caramelize for 10-15 minutes.
  • Once the syrup has reached the desired caramel color and reduced, remove from the heat.
  • Slowly add the remaining ½ cup filtered water and vanilla extract. Stir to combine.
  • Let the syrup cool to room temperature. Store the simple syrup in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one month.
