Coconut Simple Syrup – A Sweet Tropical Treat

The Perfect Coconut Syrup for Coffee, Cocktails, and More

If you love the smooth, nutty, and slightly caramelized flavor of coconut, this homemade coconut syrup is a must-try! Perfectly sweet and infused with the essence of shredded coconut, this syrup enhances everything from lattes to cocktails, smoothies, and even desserts. Whether you’re craving a tropical-inspired iced coffee or looking for a unique sweetener for baking, this coconut syrup delivers an unbeatable taste.

Why Make Coconut Syrup at Home?

Store-bought coconut syrups often contain artificial flavors, preservatives, and excessive amounts of sugar. Making your own allows you to control the ingredients, ensuring a natural, flavorful, and versatile syrup without unnecessary additives. Plus, it’s incredibly simple and requires just three ingredients!

How to Use Coconut Syrup

This homemade coconut syrup is incredibly versatile. Here are some of the best ways to use it:

  • Coffee & Lattes – Add a splash to hot or iced coffee for a creamy, tropical twist.
  • Cocktails – Elevate piña coladas, coconut mojitos, or rum-based drinks with this sweet addition.
  • Pancakes & Waffles – Drizzle it over breakfast favorites instead of maple syrup.
  • Oatmeal & Yogurt – Stir into your morning oats or yogurt for extra flavor.
  • Smoothies & Milkshakes – Blend with fruits and coconut milk for a tropical treat.
  • Baking – Use it in cakes, muffins, and glazes for a natural coconut taste.

Tips for the Best Coconut Syrup

  • Use Coconut Sugar for a Richer Flavor – Coconut sugar enhances the syrup with a natural caramel-like taste. If unavailable, white sugar works as a substitute.
  • Straining is Optional – Leaving the shredded coconut in the syrup adds texture, while straining it results in a smooth consistency.
  • Storage – Keep it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three weeks.

I prefer to store my simple syrups in mason jars, and use lids like pour lids from Mason Jar Lifestyle. Alternatively, I also like to use these bottles which are aesthetic!
