Maria Watkins, LivingPlanetFriendly
white chocolate simple syrup is the perfect addition to any cold-season drinks, especially hot chocolate
Prep Time 5 minutes mins
Cook Time 5 minutes mins
- ¾ cup half and half
- ¼ cup sweetened condensed milk
- 4 oz white chocolate
In a medium saucepan, combine the half and half and sweetened condensed milk over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, whisking occasionally to prevent scorching.
Break the white chocolate into small squares and add to the pot. Reduce the heat and continue whisking until the chocolate has fully melted into the mixture.
Once smooth and fully combined, remove the saucepan from heat. Let the syrup cool to room temperature.
Pour the cooled syrup into a clean, airtight container.
Store in the refrigerator for up to one week. Shake gently before each use.
This syrup is dairy-based, so always keep it refrigerated and don’t leave it sitting out for extended periods. If it thickens slightly in the fridge, a quick stir or gentle warm-up will restore its pourable consistency.
use a high-quality white chocolate, found in the baking aisle
