Prep Time 5 minutes
Course Ingredient
Servings 16 ounces

Ingredients

  • 16 tablespoons onion flakes
  • 2 tablespoons parsley
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  • In a medium-sized mixing bowl, add the onion flakes, parsley, onion powder, garlic powder, celery salt, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Use a spoon or whisk to stir the ingredients until they’re well blended. Make sure the powders are evenly distributed so each scoop has balanced flavor.
  • Pour the mixture into a clean, dry 16 oz pint jar or any airtight container. Use a funnel for easier transfer, and press the mix down slightly if needed to fit it all in.
  • Label the jar with the mix name and the date. Store it in a cool, dark pantry. It will keep fresh for up to 6 months.
  • Whenever a recipe calls for a packet of onion soup mix, use 3 tablespoons of your homemade version. No need to adjust the rest of the recipe—just swap and go!

Notes

Yields approximately 1 pint (16 oz jar). Three tablespoons equal one store-bought packet.
