Butter Pecan Simple Syrup

With a smooth and creamy texture, this syrup is perfect for drizzling over pancakes, waffles, ice cream, or even as a glaze for cakes and desserts. Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup filtered water
  • 1 cup pecans
  • 1 tbsp butter extract

Instructions
 

  • Roughly chop pecans.
  • In a medium saucepan, add sugar, water and pecans. Bring mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves.
  • Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Then, remove the pan from heat. Add butter extract and stir until mixed.
  • Let the syrup cool to room temperature. Strain the mixture using a fine mesh strainer, then transfer liquid to a clean container.
  • Store the simple syrup in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three weeks.
