- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup filtered water
- 2 apples
- 2-3 cinnamon sticks
In a medium saucepan, combine sugar and water over medium heat. Bring mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves.
Wash and slice two apples, add to the saucepan. Add cinnamon sticks to the saucepan.
Let the mixture simmer, for 10-15 minutes.
Remove from heat and let the syrup cool to room temperature.
Strain the mixture using a fine mesh strainer, then transfer liquid to a clean container. Store the simple syrup in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one month.
